For a time now, a lot of people have believed that the Golden State Warriors’ dynasty is ended.

Following their eighth NBA championship in 2022, they have been steadily losing ground. They were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs the previous year and failed to qualify for the postseason this year.

Ramona Shelburne believes that Stephen Curry and company will go “big-game hunting” this summer if they are to see any sort of mini-revival anytime soon. This is according to NBC Sports.

Shelburne said to Mark Willard and Dan Dibley, “The last time I was on the show with you, I mentioned I thought they’d go big-game hunting, and I still think that, that’s how [the Warriors] roll.”

The Warriors must decide whether to retain Klay Thompson, who is about to become a free agency, as one of their main decisions.

Despite his years of being their second-best player, he would be very expensive to maintain and is obviously not the player he was before suffering his ACL and Achilles injuries.

Furthermore, they may choose to let go of 39-year-old backup point guard Chris Paul, who is clearly in decline.

Consequently, if they are to regain any portion of the success they have grown accustomed to, they will want a second star to partner alongside Curry.

In a few weeks, stars like Donovan Mitchell, Lauri Markkanen, and Trae Young might become available, but Kevin Durant is the name that’s getting some attention in the Bay.

There are rumors that Golden State may attempt to get back in touch with Durant, who departed the team in 2019 after helping them win two consecutive world championships. However, it appears highly unlikely, especially given that they don’t appear to have the resources to acquire the great player from the Phoenix Suns.
