The Kansas City Chiefs have parted ways with defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs following his two recent arrests in Alabama.

Buggs, aged 27, who recently signed a contract worth $1,292,500 with Kansas City for the upcoming season, surrendered himself on May 30 following charges of two misdemeanor counts of second-degree animal cruelty. Allegedly, two dogs under his care were discovered neglected and malnourished, leading to the euthanasia of one of them.

On June 16, Buggs was arrested for domestic violence/burglary and subsequently released on a $5,000 bond, as per Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office records.

Formerly playing three seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the last two with the Detroit Lions, Buggs, known for his ability to stop the run, has started 23 games and appeared in 56 throughout his career, accumulating 89 tackles and two sacks.
