Philadelphia Phillies vs. Atlanta Braves 2024 Opening Day game is postponed due to rain.

CBS Philadelphia – In Philadelphia, Opening Day will have to wait another day. Due to bad weather, the Philadelphia Phillies decided to postpone their home opener against the Atlanta Braves until Friday. This was announced on Wednesday.

On Friday at 3:05 p.m., Philadelphia and Atlanta will instead kick off the 2024 campaign. The festivities on the field will start about 2:20 p.m., with gates opening at 12:35 p.m.

Those who already have Opening Day tickets can use them on Friday. The Phillies’ ticket policy states that “The original ticket will be valid for entry to the rescheduled game only if the postponed/suspended game is rescheduled to an open date or as part of a split (day-night) doubleheader.” If the Holder is unable to utilize the ticket on the rescheduled game date, they will not receive a return of any portion of the purchase price.”

“First Pitch,” a CBS Philadelphia special that previews the 2024 team and includes an exclusive interview with former Phillies manager Charlie Manuel, will satisfy baseball fans who are still hankering after the game.

Baseball-wise, the weather for Friday looks a lot better. On Friday afternoon, there will be plenty of sunshine and temperatures that will soar into the mid-to upper-50s; the only downside would be windy conditions. There will be gusts up to 30 mph and winds out of the northeast at about 20 mph.

Zack Wheeler will take the mound for Philadelphia against Atlanta’s star pitcher Spencer Strider.

In honor of its 20th anniversary, Citizens Bank Park is introducing a new bag policy for 2024 along with numerous incentives, stadium improvements, and concessions.
