William Kennedy’s future at the Sharks remains uncertain amid links to Storm star Ryan Papenhuyzen, while Nicho Hynes is another option to play fullback for the club.
Meanwhile, the Sharks have entered the race for halfback Ronald Volkman in a sign they may be resigned to losing boom playmaker Daniel Atkinson after re-signing Braydon Trindall.
EELS IN TALKS WITH AXED BULLDOGS STAR
The Parramatta Eels have reportedly entered the race for former Bulldogs flyer Josh Addo-Carr after his sacking by Canterbury. The Daily Telegraph reported Addo-Carr has held talks with the Eels in a bid to make an NRL comeback next season. Addo-Carr met with Eels coach Jason Ryles, who has a history with him from their time together at the Storm when he was assistant under Craig Bellamy.
Ryles could now offer Addo-Carr a career lifeline to add some attacking firepower to his backline after letting Clint Gutherson leave. Addo-Carr has also met with the Dragons and the Tigers, but his relationship with Ryles could put the Eels in the box seat for his signature. The Eels have let Maika Sivo join the Super League and Blaize Talagi has switched to Penrith, so they have the funds available to offer Addo-Carr a deal, with Gutherson also expected to join the Dragons.
Pairing Addo-Carr with Zac Lomax would give the Eels some real strike power out wide. The 29-year-old has not received a formal offer from the Eels at this stage, with Ryles and Parramatta hierarchy to weigh up if he is a recruitment risk. Addo-Carr has scored 140 tries in 179 NRL games for the Storm, Bulldogs and Tigers since his debut in 2016 and has 15 Origins and seven Tests.
Josh Addo-Carr is also on the lookout for a new club, and the Eels have reportedly emerged as a potential destination for the sacked winger.
Addo-Carr has also been linked with a move to the Dragons, however that potential signing reportedly hinges on whether Clint Gutherson lands at the Red V.
Meanwhile, Benji Marshall and the Tigers are reportedly interested in his services, with the gun winger having begun his career in Leichhardt.
