Done deal :Tom Thibodeau and the Knicks have reportedly reached a three-year contract…

The New York Knicks have agreed to a new contract with Tom Thibodeau that will keep him as head coach through the 2027-28 season, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Thibodeau, who has been with the Knicks since the 2020-21 season, is about to start his fifth year with the team.

Under his leadership, the Knicks have made the playoffs in three of his first four seasons, including back-to-back Eastern Conference semifinals appearances.

The team’s record during his tenure stands at 175–143, and they aim to compete strongly in the Eastern Conference again in the 2024-25 season with the addition of Mikal Bridges.

Last year, the Knicks achieved their best record under Thibodeau with 50 wins.

Entering his 13th season as an NBA head coach, Thibodeau has also had notable tenures with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Chicago Bulls.

He has accumulated 527 wins in 926 regular-season games and has been named Coach of the Year twice (2010-11, 2020-21).

The Knicks have not secured an NBA Championship since 1972, and Thibodeau continues to pursue his first title.
