The Warriors have the chance to acquire Lauri Markkanen if they are willing to include Brandin Podziemski in trade negotiations. However, various sources indicate that the team is strongly against trading the second-year guard.
Podziemski is reportedly a highly valued asset for the Warriors. Anthony Slater of The Athletic has highlighted that the team is resolute about keeping Podziemski due to his significant role within the organization.
During his rookie season, Podziemski made a notable impact, earning praise from head coach Steve Kerr and ultimately being selected to the All-Rookie First Team.

ner Joe Lacob is a strong supporter of the young guard and believes he has the potential to become an All-Star.
“He was a revelation, to be honest,” Lacob remarked at Summer League. “We’re very excited. We truly believe he has All-Star potential.”
Lacob continued, “He started many games for us. Steve [Kerr] had difficulty taking him off the court; he was so effective that he had to stay on. He excels in so many areas—he’s incredibly confident, has an NBA-ready physique, and can navigate the court with ease. … What can’t he do?”
In the 2023-24 season, Podziemski played in 74 games, starting 28 of them. He averaged 9.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 26.6 minutes per game, with a 38.5 percent shooting rate from three-point range.
Alongside his Warriors teammate Trayce Jackson-Davis, Podziemski was selected for the USA Select Team, which trained with Team USA in Las Vegas in preparation for the upcoming Olympics in Paris, starting at the end of this month.
