The Green Bay Packers are anticipated to be among the best teams in the NFC heading into the 2024 season. The manner the Packers concluded the 2023 campaign offered supporters hope that things won’t be all bad in the post-Aaron Rodgers era.

If all goes according to plan, the Packers may even be positioning themselves for a championship run within the next one to three years.

A key component of it will be having a defense that can turn the tide of play. There is a lot of optimism on that side of the ball already thanks to new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley. The Packers may now be able to bolster their roster with one more player.

Through the Los Angeles Rams, the Green Bay Packers may provide Jeff Hafley with yet another playmaker.

Sayre Bedinger of Dairyland Express claims that:

It’s surprising to see Ahkello Witherspoon remain unsigned at this point in the offseason and open to teams.

The Green Bay Packers must act quickly.

This upcoming season, a seasoned player like Ahkello Witherspoon might be a huge upgrade given their possible cornerback problem or problems. You are obviously paying for the name when you have guys like Xavien Howard and Stephon Gilmore. Despite not having the same level of celebrity recognition, Witherspoon has had a great NFL career, particularly with the Los Angeles Rams last season.

In the 17 games he played the previous season, Witherspoon recorded three interceptions. Pro Football Reference said that he only let 48.1 percent of passes thrown into his coverage to be completed. For a QB rating permitted of only 75.7, that was impressive.

Once more, please clarify why this guy is still available so late in the NFL offseason.

Even though Witherspoon gave up five touchdowns last season, you can still count on him to produce points even if there is some feast or famine. It’s also difficult to envision many drawbacks with this possible pickup given the Packers’ excellent defensive line. It is imperative that Green Bay gets this man into the facility before he is taken advantage of and it is too late for them.
