The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona have this week added yet another name to their list of potential attacking reinforcements with a view to next season

That’s according to Mundo Deporltivo, who point towards Pepe of Porto as the player in question.

Not to be mistaken for his teammate and former Real Madrid star of the same name, Pepe is a versatile attacker who generally operates on the left wing.

The Brazilian has played an absolutely integral role for Porto across the season to date, racking up 47 appearances across all competitions.

And he has contributed considerably in the attacking third, too, to the tune of eight goals and ten assists.

Those of a Barcelona persuasion may actually be familiar with Pepe’s talents, after the 27-year-old found the net against their side in the Champions League’s group stages late last year.

And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then those of a Blaugrana persuasion could soon be afforded the chance to watch Pepe in action on an altogether more frequent basis.

As per the aforementioned MD, the former Gremio talent has made his way firmly onto the watchlist of Deco and his team of Barca directors.

On the lookout for reinforcements on the left wing, Pepe is considered a considerably more affordable option than fellow targets Nico Williams and Dani Olmo.

The South American’s versatility – he can also operate on the right and even at full-back – makes him an even more attractive target, with Xavi and Deco in agreement that Pepe would be a more than satisfactory fallback option should Barca’s first-choice left wing targets prove unattainable in the summer.
