Exclusive Report:Georgia freshman quarterback limited by catastrophic injury through spring practice However…

Kirby Smart spoke with the media on Tuesday and provided an update on the health of one quarterback battling for the backup position.

Freshman quarterback Ryan Puglisi has been hampered by a non-serious knee injury during camp, restricting his ability to fully play thus far.

Smart addressed Puglisi’s status, saying: “Ryan is coping with a minor knee issue. It’s not a serious injury. He has had it before, dating back to high school. It’s been bothering him. He was able to throw. He has not been able to move about and run.”

It is good news for the Bulldogs that Puglisi has been able to throw thus far, though Smart did admit he has “had to miss out on some reps.”

Puglisi was recruited as a four-star quarterback from Avon, Connecticut. He has been commended not only for his talent, but also for his competitive nature, which was evident during the recruitment process when he chose to stick with Georgia throughout the process despite Dylan Raiola’s original pledge to play for the Bulldogs.
