Could Texas A&M football players be the Dallas Cowboys’ first pick in the 2024 NFL Draft?

Now that mock draft season has officially begun, it’s time to start speculating about the potential destinations of Texas A&M football draft prospects. Early in a prospect’s career, the fit can make or break the following few years, if not the rest of the career.

We are all aware with the story of Johnny Football, who was drafted into a terrible environment in Cleveland and was unable to succeed despite making numerous blunders of his own. On the other hand, Donovan Wilson, who the Cowboys selected with a low pick, has developed into one of the key members of the Dallas defense.

Another draft expert believes that another Aggie might be included in the same Dallas defense. Yesterday, Field Yates released the first version of his mock draft, in which Edgerrin Cooper was selected by the Cowboys with their first-round pick (24th overall).

Dallas would be a fantastic home for Edge. He can lay the wood as a tackler and reacts fast. He also has tremendous lateral speed. He’s played in some of the best defenses in the game, and one of his talents is stopping the run, something the Cowboys desperately need right now.

Even if Dallas wants him, it’s possible that he will pass that place because linebackers aren’t often in great demand in the first round. Dallas may just think they can pick him later in the draft.

Nevertheless, it’s fantastic to see Cooper gaining some initial attention. The excitement surrounding him appears to have continued long after the season finished, and a strong performance at the combine, particularly in the 40-yard sprint, may perform miracles for him. Who knows, he might be gone by the 24th pick if that occurs.
