Dan Reynolds Honoured with Lifetime Bronze Statue

*The unveiling ceremony drew thousands of fans from across the UK and beyond. Many arrived early to line theโ€ฆ

In a moment that will be etched into the cultural memory of British music, Dan Reynoldsโ€”frontman of global rock sensation Imagine Dragonsโ€”was immortalised in bronze on the sun-drenched afternoon of 6 November 2025. The lifetime achievement statue, unveiled in Manchesterโ€™s Cathedral Gardens, stands as a towering tribute not only to Reynoldsโ€™ musical legacy but to his unwavering advocacy for mental health, LGBTQ+ rights, and youth empowerment.

The 12-foot statue, cast in patinated bronze by acclaimed sculptor Helena Greer, captures Reynolds mid-performance: shirt sleeves rolled, one fist raised, microphone gripped like a torch. The likeness is uncannyโ€”every vein on his forearm, every bead of sweat frozen in time. Greer spent six months studying live footage and working from life casts to ensure the figure radiated the raw energy that has defined Imagine Dragonsโ€™ stadium-shaking shows for over a decade.

The ceremony itself was less a formal event and more a pilgrimage. By 6 a.m., fans had already begun queuing along Corporation Street, many having travelled overnight from Glasgow, Dublin, and even Amsterdam. Among them was 19-year-old Mia Patel from Birmingham, who arrived at 4:30 a.m. clutching a handmade sign that read: *โ€œYour voice saved mine.โ€* She wasnโ€™t alone. Dozens wore T-shirts from the bandโ€™s 2018 *Evolve* tour, others sported rainbow wristbands from Reynoldsโ€™ LoveLoud Foundation, the charity he founded to support LGBTQ+ youth.

As noon approached, the crowd swelled to over 8,000โ€”far exceeding council estimates. Phones were held aloft like periscopes, livestreaming the moment to millions worldwide. When the velvet curtain finally dropped, a collective gasp rippled through the square. Reynolds himself stood onstage beside the statue, visibly moved. โ€œThis isnโ€™t about me,โ€ he said, voice cracking. โ€œThis is about every kid who ever felt like they didnโ€™t belong. You showed up. You mattered. Thatโ€™s what this bronze is really made of.โ€

The honour comes 15 years after Imagine Dragonsโ€™ breakout single *โ€œRadioactiveโ€* stormed the UK charts, spending 83 weeks in the Top 40โ€”a record for a debut rock act. Since then, the band has sold over 75 million records globally, headlined Glastonbury twice, and won a Grammy. But for British fans, Reynoldsโ€™ connection runs deeper. His 2022 residency at Manchesterโ€™s AO Arena raised ยฃ1.2 million for local mental health charities, while his annual LoveLoud UK festival in London has become a beacon for queer youth.

Manchester City Council leader Bev Craig called the statue โ€œa love letter to resilience.โ€ She noted that Cathedral Gardensโ€”once a derelict car parkโ€”has been transformed into a public space celebrating creativity and compassion, with Reynoldsโ€™ statue joining tributes to poets Tony Walsh and Lemn Sissay.

As dusk fell, the crowd lingered. Teenagers traced their fingers over the statueโ€™s boots. A father lifted his young son to touch the bronze microphone. Somewhere in the throng, a lone busker began strumming *โ€œBeliever.โ€* Within seconds, thousands were singing. No one told them to. They just knew the words.

Dan Reynolds may have been honoured in bronze, but on this day, it was the fans who stood tallestโ€”proof that some legacies arenโ€™t cast in metal, but in the lives they refuse to let break.
