Breaking: Top Texas 2026 Wide Receiver Chase Campbell Commits to Texas Tech

In a significant boost to Texas Tech’s 2026 recruiting class, four-star wide receiver Chase Campbell from Wolfforth Frenship High School has announced his commitment to the Red Raiders. Campbell, ranked as the No. 22 overall prospect in Texas and the No. 20 wide receiver nationally for the 2026 class, chose Texas Tech over offers from several prominent programs, including Arkansas, Kansas State, and Baylor .

A Hometown Star Stays Close

Campbell’s decision to commit to Texas Tech is particularly noteworthy given his local roots. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound receiver has been on the Red Raiders’ radar since 2022, when head coach Joey McGuire extended an offer while Campbell was still in middle school . This early recognition underscores the coaching staff’s long-standing interest in his development and potential.

“Texas Tech has always felt like home,” Campbell said in a statement. “The coaching staff believed in me from the beginning, and I’m excited to be a part of what they’re building in Lubbock.”

Impressive High School Performance

Campbell’s junior season statistics highlight his impact on the field. He recorded 87 receptions for 1,428 yards and 17 touchdowns, showcasing his ability to be a consistent and explosive playmaker . His performance earned him 2-6A First-Team All-District honors and solidified his status as one of the top wide receiver prospects in Texas .

Beyond football, Campbell is a multi-sport athlete, contributing significantly to Frenship’s basketball team. In a dominant 72-18 victory over Midland High, he scored 18 points, demonstrating his athletic versatility and competitive spirit .

Recruitment Journey

Campbell’s recruitment was marked by interest from numerous Division I programs. He held offers from schools such as Arizona, Arizona State, Ole Miss, and Utah . Despite the national attention, his longstanding relationship with Texas Tech’s coaching staff and the opportunity to play close to home were pivotal factors in his decision.

“The connection I’ve built with Coach McGuire and the rest of the staff made this decision easy,” Campbell noted. “I want to contribute to the success of a program that’s invested in me from the start.”

Looking Ahead

Campbell’s commitment adds significant depth to Texas Tech’s receiving corps for the 2026 season. His combination of size, speed, and route-running ability positions him as a potential early contributor to the Red Raiders’ offense. As Texas Tech continues to build its recruiting class, securing a talent like Campbell reflects the program’s commitment to attracting top-tier athletes and strengthening its competitive standing in the Big 12.

With his senior season ahead, Campbell aims to further hone his skills and lead Frenship High School to success on the field. His dedication and performance will be closely watched as he prepares to transition to collegiate football.

For Texas Tech fans, Campbell’s decision is a cause for celebration, signaling a bright future for the Red Raiders with a homegrown star ready to make his mark.
