I’ll rescind part of my statement. Chinese capacity was “close” to Japan/SK in 2018 (my paper was on SK shipbuilding hub specifically not China), but my point on poor quality stands. They legit ripped off Carnival to design their “breakthrough” cruise ship in 2023. Their tonnage before was notorious for not doing basic shit like corrosion control so you’d get inches on the main deck of free flowing water through the superstructure. Anyway.
