New York jets fires petition over recent incident

New York Jets player was one of two people robbed at gunpoint in Morristown, New Jersey, last weekend. Police believe it was a targeted heist. Authorities are searching for armed suspects who allegedly followed the victims more than 30 miles from Manhattan to a home in the Windmill Pond community before the robbery on Saturday morning, according to the Morristown Department of Public Safety. Authorities provided further details in a statement shared on Facebook.

On Saturday, February 15th, at approximately 8:00 a.m., the Morristown Bureau of Police responded to multiple 911 calls about the armed robbery in the Windmill Pond section of town. A witness saw a group of men carrying guns exit a dark-colored SUV. They robbed the victims in another vehicle, taking money and personal items before fleeing. Witnesses did not report any injuries.

The Bureau’s Investigative Unit responded immediately. They conducted victim and witness interviews and canvassed the area for surveillance footage. Authorities withheld the victims’ names, but reports indicate one was a Jets player.
