Ashton’s Role With A Winning Team
In her previous role with the Current, Ashton was the General Manager since January 2022 and in her first year on the job, the club went on to compete in the 2022 NWSL Championship.
In the NWSL offseason, Ashton played a key role in recruiting international players such as Debinha, Temwa Chawinga, and Bia Zaneratto for the Current, who remain unbeaten 12 games into the 2024 NWSL regular season.

Ashton previously played in the NWSL with Sky Blue FC (now known as Gotham FC), the Orlando Pride, and the Houston Dash from 2014-2017.
The former NWSL player also grew up in Irvine, California and previously played overseas with Vålerenga in Norway until she retired in 2018. In her new role with the Wave, Ashton will continue to scout and recruit players while managing the coaching staff and players.
The Wave currently hold a No. 9 rank in the NWSL standings and this season, they’ve added several key international players to their roster such as defender Hanna Lundkvist, Mya Jones, and most recently, María Sánchez.
Building Off the Wave’s History
As the Wave continue to find their rhythm following a successful season as the 2023 NWSL Shield Winners, Ashton will work closely alongside Wave FC Head Coach Casey Stoney.
“The Wave stands for excellence and this organization wants to be a winning organization and recognized for that not just in the NWSL and in the U.S., but globally and also do things the right way and that’s something that’s really important and aligns with me,” said Ashton.
