Stefanos Tsitsipas explained why he retired from his match against Holger Rune at the 2023 Atp Finals in Turin, citing mobility issues.

The official injury was reported as a back issue, although Tsitsipas stated that the main concern was movement. We’d heard whispers for a few days that he was suffering with some ailments, but the elbow was the main focus.

He missed a few practices, but after retiring, he claimed that the movement affected him the most. He looked OK against Jannik Sinner despite the loss, but he felt bad today, despite the fact that doctors cleared him to play.

I practiced for the past few days. I didn’t spend too much time on the court. I had a little difficulties moving. It is primarily influenced when I move.

It’s tough to compete in a match without moving. This is tennis. This isn’t darts.
