The Atlanta Braves will be missing two regulars in Wednesday’s series finale against the Chicago Cubs. Atlanta will be seeking to complete a sweep behind Charlie Morton.

Chicago’s starting pitcher will be right-hander Javier Assad. Ronald Acuña Jr is absent from the squad for the first time this season. Michael Harris will lead off, with Adam Duvall starting in right field.

Austin Riley will miss his third consecutive game due to a pain in his side sustained during Sunday’s game in New York. Zack Short will make another start at third and bat eighth.

In Tuesday’s triumph, Acuña went 0-for-5, bringing his series total to 1-for-8. For the time being, it appears to be a day off, but we will provide an update if Brian Snitker’s pregame availability changes.

The off day on Thursday allows Acuña and Riley to relax for two days before their series opening against the San Diego Padres on Friday.
