Injury rules Real Madrid’s key midfield out of finals

According to a report from SPORT, midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni’s participation in the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund is extremely complicated.

The Frenchman was seen walking with support during the celebration of Real Madrid’s league triumph and it is said that it will be very difficult for him to be 100% fit from a painful injury.

Tchouameni is fighting a losing battle

Carlo Ancelotti acknowledges the slim chances of Tchouameni’s recovery and is contemplating alternatives.

During the course of the season, the Frenchman served as a versatile asset for the Italian, shifting between defence and midfield as per team requirements and opponent strategies.

to be noted that Tchouameni picked up a stress injury during the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals against Bayern.

With a little over 15 days to recover, he faces the challenge of regaining form after this lengthy break, while also risking a relapse that could sideline him for the Euros in Germany.

This predicament weighs heavily on Ancelotti, as he must decide between banking on Eder Militao’s potential, evident but not fully realized, or trusting Nacho, who proved himself against Bayern despite previous doubts.

Ancelotti will have to make significant changes

In the midfield, Eduardo Camavinga stands as the likely replacement for Tchouameni. However, his youth brings both energy and occasional insecurity, making him a wildcard.

Alternatively, Ancelotti might opt for the Valverde-Kroos double pivot, a tactic yielding success earlier in the season. This could pave the way for Luka Modric’s inclusion, given his stellar recent performances.
