The Atlanta Braves made two trades involving infielders on Thursday.

They acquired utility infielder Zack Short from the Boston Red Sox and traded infielder Luis Guillorme to the Los Angeles Angels, both for cash.

Guillorme was traded to the Angels after playing five games at second base and one at shortstop for the Braves this season, as well as one inning of relief pitching.

Guillorme, 29, had a batting average of.150 in 20 at-bats. He formerly played with the New York Mets from 2018 to 2023, with a lifetime batting average of.258.

Short, aged 28, was designated for assignment by the Red Sox on Wednesday before the Braves acquired him for cash. Short had no hits in seven at-bats with Boston after being traded from the Mets on May 1.

Previously, the Mets designated him for assignment on April 26.

Short has played numerous infield positions this season and has a 177 lifetime batting average with 13 home runs, 55 RBIs, and eight stolen bases in 189 games between Detroit (2021-23) and the Mets.
