LIV Golf strives to provide an exciting experience for fans. The new installation of “Flight Deck” at LIV Golf Adelaide, paired with the loud music and party feel at the Watering Hole, demonstrates Greg Norman’s dedication to providing the greatest possible experience for his fans. However, it appears that the Saudis are digging their own grave. At least that’s what the confrontation between Lucas Herbert and his caddie suggests!

Herbert sunk a stunning 6-foot putt in the second round of the Australian Open, culminating with a birdie at the 12th hole! With only one bogey on the day (at the 18th hole), the golfer finished with an incredible 7-under par. His exceptional abilities enthralled the Australian throng, and as he rejoiced with his arms spread wide, the audience joined in. Their celebrations, however, included much more than just cheers. The supporters began tossing water, beer, and everything else they could find onto the green, practically trying to shower him!

Unfortunately, one fan tossed “a full water bottle” as well, which hit Herbert’s caddie, Nick Pugh, on the head. Many others felt regret as he collapsed to the floor from the impact. “Not cool,” wrote ‘Flushing It’ after the incident, and fans couldn’t agree more.

This year’s turnout in Adelaide was nearly double that of 2023. According to sources, more over 70,000 tickets were sold for the event. While this was helpful for publicity, it also increased the damage, especially because last year when Chase Koepka made an ace on Watering Hole, the crowd went berserk and celebrated by dumping beer on the greens. This caused significant damage to the course. That had upset the club members, and the present episode may have had a similar outcome. Fans from all over the world were on edge just watching the occurrence on tape. Posts on X were overwhelmingly harsh towards the Australian audience, with many answers dripping in sarcasm.

Fans from all over the world were on edge just watching the occurrence on tape. Posts on X were overwhelmingly critical against the Australian crowd, with many answers dripping with sarcasm, criticizing and insulting their actions.

Rather than resorting to sarcasm, one fan attempted to draw a comparison between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour. “That would never happen on the PGAT.” Some fans alone would argue that, seeing as to how the Watering Hole is the equivalent of the Party Hole at the Phoenix Open, where things often go wild as well. Regardless, they were of the opinion that LIV Golf strayed from tradition.

Another fan showed apparent dissatisfaction. “You expected less from this crowd?” they said, implying that they believed the crowd in Adelaide went to such extremes throughout the event. And Australians, famed for their passion and dedication to everything they do, might not argue against it. LIV Golf prioritizes giving fans with an unforgettable experience. Only time will tell if this is a good or terrible thing in light of Saturday’s incident!
