Alabama Crimson Tide football player Elijah Pritchett is in trouble with the law again this offseason.
Alabama football player Elijah Pritchett was arrested on Friday for speeding, according to court records.
The Crimson Tide offensive lineman was charged with an Exhibition of Speed misdemeanor, which carries a possible three-month jail sentence and a $500 fine if convicted, Pritchett was released after posting a $300 bond.
Local police stated in their deposition that Pritchett changed lanes and drove away when officers approached his Dodge Charger on foot, pursued him, and eventually pulled him over near the Walk of Champions at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Officers reported hearing Pritchett’s vehicle accelerating and tires squealing in the area.
“During the time of the driving action of Pritchett, there were numerous people on foot in the area of the Strip and all the businesses in the area,” officers said, according to 100.9 FM.
This is Pritchett’s second arrest in the past five months. In December, he was charged with a Class C misdemeanor of knowingly spreading a sexually transmitted disease.
Pritchett, a highly rated tackle in Alabama’s 2022 recruiting class, appeared in every game as a reserve last season after redshirting as a freshman the previous year. This spring, he has been practicing as Alabama’s first-team left tackle.
