Tsitsipas extends winning run at the Barcelona Open


Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated Sebastian Ofner on Wednesday night, 6-4, 7-5, and will now play Spanish player Roberto Carballes Baena in the following round.

On Wednesday night at Real Club de Tenis Barcelona, Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No. 5 seed, defeated Austrian Sebastian Ofner 6-4, 7-5 to go to the Barcelona Open quarterfinals.

Tsitsipas, who is ranked seventh and won in Monte-Carlo this past week, continued his winning run to seven games and set up a matchup with Roberto Carballes Baena, a Spaniard, for the next.

The 43rd-ranked Ofner defeated the Russian Pavel Kotov in the Barcelona tournament’s previous round (5-7, 6-3, 6-2).
