Stefanos Tsitsipas wins the third Monte-Carlo championship after defeating Casper Ruud.

The world number 10 was easily dispatched by the Greek.

Stefanos Tsitsipas won the Monte-Carlo Masters for the third time in four years, easily defeating Casper Ruud in the process.

On Court Rainier III, the Greek player defeated his Norwegian opponent 6-1, 6-4 in just one hour and 37 minutes.

In the semifinals, Ruud defeated world No. 1 Novak Djokovic, but he was unable to duplicate the victory as Tsitsipas once more displayed his finest tennis in the principality.

The ATP Tour’s official website said the title winner, who overcame a back issue: “It has been very difficult, so to be back on the podiums, winning tournaments just feels amazing.”

“I am incredibly grateful to my friends, family, and, if God exists, them for making this moment possible. I am so appreciative to everyone who has helped with this journey.

“Compared to the first or second time, the third time is much more memorable. For me, this is an incredible victory. It was nerve-wracking to pull off the victory today. I’d been dying for this trinity. I’m really content right now.

In his match against the world number 10, the 25-year-old 12th seed broke the struggling Ruud in the third game and won the opening set at the second attempt.

The 25-year-old 12th seed defeated the struggling Ruud in the third game of his encounter against the world number 10 and took the first set on his second try.

“I’m happy I presented on the court and displayed some vicious tennis,” he remarked. My play flowed well from start to finish, and I was able to incorporate a variety of shots.

In the meantime, injuries has forced Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz to withdraw from the Barcelona Open.

Due to a right forearm issue, the world number three had to withdraw from the Monte-Carlo Masters and hasn’t fully recovered to return to his native country to defend his championship.

“Carlos Alcaraz will not be able to defend the title he won the last two seasons,” the event said in a statement.

“The Murcian player, who tried until the very last minute, will not be competing in the Barcelona Open due to his injury from Monte Carlo. He did not feel well during Sunday’s training.

“We hope to see you next year and wish you a speedy recovery.”
