Cammy Kerr was dismissed by the seasoned referee during Inverness’s March 30 loss to Partick Thistle.

But today, a fast-track tribunal has reversed the verdict, removing the yellow card and rescinding the red card.

Kerr, who is on loan from Dundee, was warned by Beaton for simulation during the first half of the Championship match.

Subsequently, the referee, who was officiating Sunday’s derby at Ibrox, issued a red card to Kerr following his second booking for allegedly fouling an opponent.

Inverness have confirmed the yellow card for simulation was removed alongside the red card with just the one yellow card for a foul remaining.

An Inverness Caledonian Thistle statement confirmed: “The club is pleased to announce that following our appeal to the SFA Fast Track Tribunal, the red card given to Cammy Kerr by referee John Beaton has been rescinded along with the yellow card he received for simulation.

“Cammy is now available for selection this Saturday.”

 Rangers vs Celtic:

Inverness boss Duncan Ferguson had said of the red card decision: “Another harsh decision, unfortunately. Simulation, we will appeal it and we will win it, because there is no simulation.

“Cammy made about three fouls in the whole game and he got a red card.

“It was never, ever simulation so it was another poor decision by the referee.”

Beaton is set to take charge of the crucial title clash between Rangers and Celtic on Sunday and will be assisted by Daniel McFarlane and Dougie Potter.

Willie Collum has been chosen as the fourth official for the televised fixture.

Nick Walsh will take on VAR duties with Frank Connor his assistant in the booth.

The referee appointment was confirmed on the Scottish FA website on Tuesday morning.

This will be Beaton’s first time in charge of the fixture this season with Don Robertson the referee for the meeting on September 3 last year and Nick Walsh in the middle for the contest on December 30.
