The lineman from Kentucky visited the campus earlier this month and has a scheduled official visit this week.
Javeon Campbell has already established himself as a top target for Georgia’s defensive line. Since the start of the season, the Western Hills, Kentucky, superstar has been under evaluation by the Bulldogs. As a result, earlier this month, Georgia defensive line coach Tray Scott made an offer during a spring practice visit.
“I was very astounded. It wasn’t what I had anticipated. “I was ecstatic that everything was happening,” Campbell said to Dawgs247.
This offer has resulted in an official follow-up visit to Georgia. Campbell announced earlier this week that he would be visiting Athens on June 21–23. He is scheduled to visit Ohio State from May 31 to June 2 and Kentucky from June 7-9 on his third official visit. Campbell mentioned adding visits to his calendar from Alabama and Auburn.
Campbell’s plan for the upcoming visit to Georgia is to see the campus and spend more time getting to know Scott. “See the campus, really. Campbell remarked, “I want to see the school and other things I didn’t get to see up there.” “I just want to talk to the coaches more.”
“Coach Scott’s just like a guy that loves football. He knows what he’s doing. He knows what he’s talking about. He knows how to develop his players. He listens to them,” Campbell said. “He’s a really patient guy that wants to coach you up and get you ready for the NFL, or anything as a man, really. He’s just a really good coach.” Campbell’s enthusiastic response to his visit to Georgia goes beyond the coaching staff.
The defensive lineman, who stands 6 feet 4 and weighs 265 pounds, saw Georgia’s spring practice. During his attendance at all the spring practices, Campbell made a clear assessment regarding Georgia’s business operations. “You can just tell they really want to do something this upcoming season,” Campbell stated. “The players were what I took away. They give each other coaching. When a player makes a mistake, every other player points it out to him and tries to assist him. That is the team’s accountability system and culture.
He’s still weighing the in-state vs. out-of-state pull.
