Draymond Green discusses his contentious dismissal

This week, Warriors player Draymond Green discussed the contentious ejection that rocked the basketball community in an interview with his own podcast. Rather of trying to justify his behavior, Dray acknowledged that he must improve moving forward.

“Four minutes into the game, I was expelled. It doesn’t matter what was stated; I can’t do it. It is simply not possible. I should have been ejected at that time because I stated what I said,” Green remarked. “I kind of wish I could have turned and angled my body to go to the bench, but it’s not possible.”

Just minutes into the first quarter, Draymond totally lost control, setting off quite the scene in Orlando on Wednesday. Green finished the game with a final line of 0 points and 3 rebounds after receiving two technical fouls in the course of 35 seconds.

Steve Kerr and Stephen Curry were unable to contain their annoyance in the heat of the moment, and some are already beginning to wonder if Green has learned anything from having to spend some time away from the action due to an indefinite suspension earlier in the season.

The good news is that Draymond appears to be sorry about what transpired yesterday, but given his lengthy past, it’s difficult to accept him seriously. Green can only demonstrate his discipline at this stage by staying out of trouble, and the Warriors will definitely need him to stay out of trouble this season.

The Golden State Warriors Are Having A Hard Time

Many of the demons Draymond Green is facing today are ones he experienced years ago, and his problems are not unique to this season. Though he still finds it difficult to strike a balance, he is not the only one going through a difficult moment at the moment.

The entire team, currently ranked 10th in the West, has struggled from head to toe and hasn’t been able to identify any lasting fixes.

Klay Thompson, a legendary fantastic shooter and multiple All-Star, ought to be this team’s savior. But due to age and injuries, he is now starting to come off the bench for rookie Brandon Podziemski.

And there’s the case of Andrew Wiggins. In addition to missing two seasons due to “personal family reasons,” Wiggs has poor performance averages (12.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game on 45% shooting) when he is available.

It makes sense that the Warriors have been middling throughout the most of the season given all of these variables combined with lingering concerns regarding Steve Kerr’s rotations. However, they must play well in the final minutes to keep the Rockets from seizing their place if they are to advance to the play-in round.

The Warriors are being put to the test now more than ever, and a loss may be the end for this squad as we know it.

But for now, while there is still hope for the season, the Warriors will keep on fighting and they will not stop until their last chance has been snuffed out. Hopefully, Draymond keeps himself together long enough to make a difference in the end.
