At the Valspar Championship in Miami, Keith Mitchell rocketed to the top of the scoreboard with an incredible eagle on the final hole, putting him at 10 under par for the competition. Seamus Power, Mackenzie Hughes, and Peter Malnati trail Mitchell by two strokes heading into the final round.
Keith Mitchell will take a two-shot lead into the final day of the Valspar Championship in Miami.
With a round of 66, the American surged to the top of the leaderboard, two shots ahead of Seamus Power, Mackenzie Hughes, and Peter Malnati, who were all 10 under par for the tournament.
Although he had two birdies on the front nine, Mitchell’s day did not start off as he had hoped. However, a tremendous recovery on the back nine put him in the lead going into the fourth round.
After making a birdie on hole 12, Mitchell moved into gear. He then made more birdies on holes 14, 16, and 17, which set him up for a tremendous eagle on the final hole that sent him to the top of the leaderboard. Power, Malnati, and Hughes, the co-leader overnight, shot 68 and 69, respectively, to share second place on eight under.
Brendon Todd, Cameron Young, and Chandler Phillips are one shot behind on seven under for the title.
