Golfer’s happiness upon receiving his trophy returned from Ryanair after staff threatened to “bin” it

On Sunday, Joe Lyons won a competition in Seville, but he was unable to put the cup in his luggage when he returned to Ireland.

Irish golfer Joe Lyons, who won in Spain on Sunday, is hoping to reunite with a priceless trophy today. He thought it had been thrown away when Ryanair employees wouldn’t let him take it home in the cabin.
The current Irish Seniors Close champion Lyons (51), who was born in Offaly, was ecstatic to win the Spanish Seniors Amateur Open on Sunday at Real Club Sevilla Golf by a margin of four shots.
