Brock Bowers, a tight end for the Georgia Bulldogs, has long been linked to your Los Angeles Chargers. It looks like even Vegas thinks they have a good chance of selecting him with the No. 5 choice in the NFL draft in April.

FanDuel Sportsbook is offering the Chargers +200 odds to choose Bowers. They are now ahead of the Tennessee Titans (+750), New York Jets (+900), Indianapolis Colts (+500), Cincinnati Bengals (+1000), and New Orleans Saints (+1200).

The Bolts may decide to reenter the draft in order to gain future draft equity while staking a wager that a different team would not select Bowers. It’s a bold move that depends on how highly Los Angeles regards him as a professional possibility.

The tight end group under new offensive coach Greg Roman may need to be rebuilt because Gerald Everett, a seasoned player, is set to become a free agent.

During the 2023 college football season, Bowers caught 56 passes for 714 yards and six scores for the 13-1 Bulldogs. The John Mackey Award, which goes to the best tight end in the country, has only been won twice by him as an athlete. Georgia under Bowers’ coaching won two consecutive national titles in the College Football Playoffs in 2021 and 2022.
