Within the NFL, there has been discussion for years regarding Eric Bieniemy’s inability to get hired as a head coach.

Bieniemy performed admirably with the offense of the Kansas City Chiefs, and he was interviewed several times, but to no avail.

Still, even if the Commanders wouldn’t bring him back after just one season, Shannon Sharpe thinks he made a mistake by taking the same position at UCLA.

Talking to Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson for their Nightcap show, Sharpe thinks that if he couldn’t get a head coaching position by being an assistant in the NFL, he’s only going to get more overlooked now that he’s out of sight.

“I felt it was a mistake him leaving anyway. He let people convince him, well you need to go outside of Andy,” Sharpe said.
