The Georgia Football coaching staff is still changing. In order to play in the NFL, Bryan McClendon has left the Georgia Football program. McClendon is going to be the Tampa Bay Bucs’ wide receiver coach going forward.
would not be a G-Day announcement if the day or week it fell on was trouble-free. When it was announced a few years back that G-Day would take place on the Saturday before Easter, a lot of Georgia supporters took issue with it. G-Day takes place this year during the same week as The Masters.
If you are debating whether to go to Athens for G-Day or Augusta for the Masters that week, we will gladly see you in Augusta! This year’s Masters is later than in the past, but who cares? It’s The Masters! Georgia is the only school in the country that has to worry about when The Masters are being held. But for someone like myself, it will make a great sports weekend. G-Day, Masters, and the Braves, all in one weekend? What a weekend!
No announcement has been made on whether G-Day will be broadcast on ESPN or SEC Network. But, with the new contract between Disney and the SEC, It would not be a shock if the game was broadcast on ABC. But my money is on ESPN.
Fans will get to see some of Georgia’s newest faces for the first time on G-Day. The Dawgs added six players via the transfer channel and signed the nation’s top recruiting class for the 2024 cycle. There will also be intrigue in the competition for the Dawgs’ number-two quarterback job. Even though Ryan Puglisi, a rookie who has only been in Athens for a few months, is drawing attention, Gunner Stockton, who played the most of the second half of the Orange Bowl, appears to be the favorite.
G-Day has always appealed to me. Although some people hate it, there are a few excellent aspects about it. First of all, you get to go to Athens in the springtime, and who can resist sipping a refreshing drink on a patio in the city center? You also get to experience Georgia football. Although it is a more mild form of the experience, it temporarily relieves the itch. So grab a Kool-Aid and make your way to Athens.
