If offered a position in the Premier League, Brendan Rodgers might leave Celtic, people close to the player have told Football Insider.

Transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke said in an interview with the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast that the 51-year-old would be “tempted” to return to England if the chance presented itself.

In February 2019, Rodgers’ first stint with the Hoops came to an end after he received a job offer from Leicester City, a Premier League team at the time.

In the midst of a relegation struggle, he departed the Foxes by mutual consent in April 2023 after little over four years, and he rejoined Celtic in June of last year as Ange Postecoglou’s replacement.

Rodgers acknowledged that his mid-season departure would have harmed the fan base, but upon his return to Parkhead, he declared he would play out his three-year contract.

Is Brendan Rodgers planning a surprise Premier League comeback?
The comeback of archrivals Rangers, who have cut the gap on them at the top of the table since Philippe Clement arrived at Ibrox in October, hasn’t helped his first season back in charge.

The Celtic supporters were quite critical of their major league losses to Hearts and Kilmarnock, as well as their miserable Champions League campaign and second-round Scottish League Cup elimination.
